Simon Lehne Trail Extension

Simon Lehne Trail Extension

The Simon Lehne Trail Extension project will create a safer route for pedestrians and cyclists along Simon Lehne Drive. Thank you to SGI for providing a Provincial Traffic Safety Fund Grant in the amount of $50,000 for 2026 to support the project.

Fall 2026: Construction of a two-metre-wide surfaced path from Main Street to Holiday Drive. It will connect with the pathway now under construction from Holiday Drive to White Pine Place. The new path will follow the back slope of the ditch beside Holiday Drive RV Park, then wind through the front portion of Holiday Acres Park to Holiday Drive.

Please note: the park’s slide will be removed as it no longer meets safety standards. The swing set will need to be relocated as it interferes with the crosswalk approach.

Winter 2027: The Resort Village will seek input on a new design for the park from nearby property owners, the Sport, Culture and Recreation and Trails Advisory committees. Communities in Bloom will also be invited to discuss ways to beautify the area.

2027 (timing to be determined): A second phase of the trail will include a paved pathway along the shoulder of Ford Road similar to the Main Street path. It will connect with the existing trail extending north to Nobles Point.
