A Popular Winter Sport in the Resort Village
CurlingThe Candle Lake Curling Club first got its start in 2002, curling outdoors on marina ice. Through fundraising and volunteer labour, the Rosemarie Mitchell Centennial Arena was built. The Arena has three sheets of artificial ice which is prepared and maintained by volunteers. The Arena also includes a 2,000 square foot viewing area which accommodates 90 people. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and washroom facilities.
The Curling Club encourages anyone to join!
Rental Opportunities
During the curling season the curling rink can be rented by the hour per individual sheet of ice or day for all three sheets. Brooms, sliders and throwing sticks are available if needed. The lounge area is also available to rent (capacity 90 people). In the off season the rink area can be rented as a hall. A rental can be combined with the lounge viewing area and/or the kitchen facilities.
